A reliable partner for follow-up care

Specialist treatment for complex clinical presentations

As a doctor, therapist, clinic or psychosomatic outpatient centre, you support people whose mental and physical symptoms are closely interlinked. If outpatient support is not sufficient, or if more intensive treatment appears appropriate, PONTEM Medic offers a specialised therapeutic setting for psychotherapy and psychosomatic care.

This page provides an initial overview of our approach to treatment, possible indications, the admission process and how we work with PONTEM Medic.

When a referral may be appropriate

Treatment at PONTEM Medic may be an option for guests if mental or psychosomatic symptoms are significantly affecting their daily lives, their ability to work, their relationships or their quality of life.

Typical symptoms include, amongst others:

  • Burnout and chronic fatigue
  • Depression and depressive moods
  • Anxiety disorders and inner restlessness
  • Psychosomatic symptoms
  • Functional physical symptoms
  • Consequences of trauma and distressing experiences
  • Crises, feeling overwhelmed and self-esteem issues

Suitability is always assessed on a case-by-case basis. An initial consultation serves to assess the situation and jointly determine whether PONTEM Medic may be the right place for treatment.

The ‘BALANCE BY PONTEM’ therapeutic approach

A key foundation of our therapeutic work is the ‘BALANCE BY PONTEM’ therapeutic approach. At PONTEM Medic, this represents a specialised understanding of treatment which does not merely view mental and psychosomatic conditions from a symptom-based perspective, but places them within the broader context of the individual’s personal life situation.

For referring practitioners, this means that guests are provided with a clear therapeutic framework in which their symptoms are taken seriously, carefully understood and addressed on an individual basis.

Our Approach to Treatment

PONTEM Medic offers a psychosomatic approach to treatment that considers the body, mind and life circumstances as a whole. Symptoms are not viewed in isolation, but are understood within their personal, biographical and psychosomatic context.

The aim is to stabilise guests, provide them with therapeutic support and prepare them for their return to everyday life, work and personal autonomy. Our vision encapsulates this commitment: ‘Solutions that stabilise people and enable lasting autonomy’.

To be well looked after

Many guests come to PONTEM Medic after prolonged periods of stress, repeated attempts at outpatient treatment or a phase of growing uncertainty. That is why we place great importance on providing support that is both professionally sound and personally attentive.

From the initial enquiry through to admission and treatment, guests are provided with guidance, a personal point of contact and a clear understanding of the next steps. Our mission, ‘Being open and safe’, encapsulates this approach: fostering openness, providing a sense of security and responsibly supporting therapeutic progress.

Aftercare as part of the treatment approach

Psychosomatic treatment is particularly effective in the long term when the transition back to everyday life, work, family and relationships is taken into account. That is why PONTEM Medic regards aftercare as an important part of the therapeutic journey.

Aftercare helps guests to consolidate their progress, better manage stressful situations and apply what they have learnt to their everyday lives. For referring practitioners, this provides additional support following the stay.
